We have been doing deck coatings for years and were good at it. A substantial part of the cost of a deck renovation with a new deck coating is the prep work. A lot of contractors dont prep properly and cut corners. For a new deck topping to bond properly over an existing topping that has been sealed the sealer must be removed for proper adhesion.



With the C & D product we dont have to remove the sealer beacuse the field floats. Another problem of deck topping renovation is the presence of existing cracking. You can not repair a structural crack in a 4" thick slab. You can cover it up temporarily and you can sometimes minimize it but you are not going to fix it. A structural crack will always resurface through a cementious topping- ALWAYS. The only way to resolve a crack is to remove the concrete and install new concrete with properly placed crack control. With the C&D product we can install over these cracks and joints because the field is not bonded to the substrate.
